Fishing Report

May, 2010
Walleye Opener was on the slow side on Saturday. By Wednesday things took a 180 turn to the excellent!!! Trolling in 10 to 16 feet of water with a number 10 and a number 12 Husky Jerks and X Raps had them going from 7 p.m. through 2 a.m. Colors were Glass and Glass Perch.
Crappies and Bluegills were going in the shallows on small jigs tipped with tiny leech pieces, minnows or power bait maggots.
As always, the bass were on the warpath being caught everywhere with darn near any technique.
The shocker this May was the pike! We had 27 pike over 30 inches with the big three at 40, 42, and 44 inches!!! All of these were caught and released while fishing for other species.
June, 2010
Bluegills are going crazy all around the lakes with the larger fish being caught on the deeper weed edges and the big bulls suspending over the small gravel humps. Slip floats with small chunks of worm, crawler, leeches and wax worms are all working! As always, the action is fast and furious.
Early in the month the bass were caught shallow (2 to 6 feet) on rattletraps and plastic worms. As of the 20th they started to migrate to the outer weed edge.
Crappies are suspending at the edge of the cabbage and out over the deep holes. Trolling black beetle spins has been the most productive method.
As always, the dock fishing has been consistent for the kids!
Hope to see you on the lake!
